TIRUPATI: Chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy laid the foundation stone for the construction of houses for Tirumala’s homeless, road development work and for proposed subway between TTD’s Srinivasam pilgrim complex to APSRTC bus stand.At a function held at Sree Ramachandra Puskharani, the chief minister inaugurated all work undertaken by TTD. About 151 houses will be constructed near Mangalam, on the outskirts of Tirupati, for displaced families of Tirumala. Each house will be built at a cost of `3.8 lakh and the houses will reportedly be completed within 8 months. The construction of the subway between Srinivasam complex and bus stand has been estimated at `95 lakh. The length and width of the subway will be 56 metres by 7 metres respectively. Road development work will be taken up in parts of town including Shankarambabi, Ramanuja, Poornakumbham and Nandi circles. Ministers, N Raghuveera Reddy, Galla Aruna Kumari, C Ramachandraiah, MP K Chiranjeevi, Chinta Mohan, TTD executive officer L V Subramanyam, chief engineer Chandrasekhar Reddy and others were present.
