RAICHUR: Chief Minister D V Sadananda Gowda, former CM B S Yeddyurappa, state BJP president K S Eshwarappa, MP Ananthkumar and Rural Development Minister Jagadish Shettar are like the ‘Pancha Pandavas’ of the state BJP, said Minister for Municipal Administration Balachandra Jarkiholi. He opined that BJP leaders issuing irresponsible and damaging statements should be taken to task by legislators.“They should sort out their differences in the best interests of the party, else the BJP’s image will be tarnished,” he said. On a permanent solution to the infighting in the BJP, the minister suggested that a Legislature Party meeting be convened. “I am no senior leader to advise Yeddyurappa and Eshwarappa. But I can say that their statements will damage the party’s reputation, he said.Adding that people’s expectations are high about the new CM, he said that the next 14 months are crucial. “Development should be the priority of the party.”Irregularities in Raichur MunicipalityAn inquiry committee has exposed irregularities in Raichur city municipality, against which action will be taken by January 10, the minister declared.“The complaints are being probed by an inquiry committee. A report, which I have received, has exposed many glaring violations. I will take action in a matter of time,” the minister said.
