THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Thiruvananthapuram will host the Global NRK Meet-2011 on December 29 and 30. Organised jointly by NORKA Department and NORKA-ROOTS, the meet, planned at Hotel Mascot, will be attended by NRKs and people who have returned from abroad. Cultural Affairs Minister K C Joseph said in a statement that representatives of NRK organisations, major NRK investors and Malayalees working in other parts of the country will be participating in the two-day event. Those who wish to attend can register on the website www.globalnrkmeet2011.norkaroots.net.NRK Meet is a prelude to the Emerging Kerala 2012 planned next year in Kochi. Chief Minister Oommen Chandy, Union Minister Vayalar Ravi, Ministers, Planning Board Vice-Chairman and officials of KSIDC, KFC, SBT, Federal Bank, Canara Bank, KITCO and INKEL will be attending NRK-2011, he said. ‘’There will be opportunity for NRKs to voice their grievances to the Chief Minister,’’ Joseph said. Discussions will also revolve around boosting investment possibilities in the state and the role to be played by NRKs. Recommendations on future policies regarding Keralites working abroad too would be compiled at this event, the Minister said.
