City police initiative to reach out to public

CHENNAI: Chennai Police has launched an initiative to reach out to the city's residents. Under this initiative, senior police officials from the rank of Deputy Commissioner down to Assistant Commissioners and inspectors would spend at least one hour everyday interacting with the public and hearing their grievances.
The initiative is aimed at building confidence in the police force amonthe public.
