Centre trying to sabotage Sabarimala pilgrimage, says BJP

The BJP has alleged that the Central Government is trying to sabotage Sabarimala pilgrimage citing the guidelines issued for the protection of tiger reserve.

 BJP state president V Muralidharan said in a statement here that there was a conspiracy behind citing such reasons ahead of the pilgrimage.

Last year, vested interests had played up the Mullaperiyar issue to create panic among the pilgrims.

The proposal to give 10 per cent of the temple’s revenue for local bodies was part of a move to ‘plunder the assets’ of the temple, Muralidharan’s statement said.

 He said that the party would launch strong agitation against any attempt to sabotage the Sabarimala pilgrimage.
