HYDERABAD: Former chief secretary P Ramakanth Reddy and senior IAS officer Ajay Mishra were questioned by the CBI on Thursday in connection with the alleged illegal assets case of Kadapa MP YS Jagan Mohan Reddy today.Both Reddy and Mishra were reportedly issued summons to appear before the agency sometime ago.Reddy was the chief secretary during the YS Rajasekhara Reddy’s tenure and is presently heading the AP State Election Commission. Mishra, presently posted as secretary, general administration department (GAD), was then the principal secretary for rural water supply.Mishra also previously headed the Infrastructure and Investment department.Sources said, both Reddy and Mishra were reportedly asked questions pertaining to release of water to Penna cements and Sandur Power Company Limited. Both were grilled by the CBI for about a couple of hours at the Dilkusha guest house.It is learnt that while serving as chief secretary, Ramakanth Reddy reportedly signed several files relating to the infrastructure and industrial projects during the YSR tenure. He was reportedly grilled on the alleged favours done in the Vanpic Port project by the YSR government. This is said to be the second time that Mishra was questioned by CBI.
