KOCHI: The United Forum of Bank Unions(UFBU) have urged the Central Government to give up reforms in banking sector, which are against the interests of the people.
The demand was raised at the convention of UFBU organised here as a prelude to the nationwide strike to be held on August 7. Addressing the convention Congress leader A C Jose, said the ownership of public sector banks would continue to be with the government. The Reserve Bank would continue to control other banks, he said. CITU leader K Chandran Pillai, AITUC state secretary Kanam Rajendran, INTUC state president R Chandrasekharan, former LDF minister Benoy Viswom and UFBU leaders spoke.
