SHIMOGA: “Don’t you have any business other than asking questions about Yeddyurappa?” retorted BJP state president K S Eshwarappa when media persons sought his reaction on statements made by the former chief minister. He was coming out of the Kuvempu Rangamandir after inaugurating the green city campaign preparatory meeting organised by the city municipal council on Wednesday when media persons cornered him. “Why do you ask questions about Yeddyurappa from morning till evening. Don’t you have any other work?” he asked. On the absence of Yeddyurappa’s photo during the youth awareness programme held in Mangalore, he said the photo was there and the news that appeared in the media was false. “Yeddyurappa is with us and reports that he is leaving the party are far from true,” he added. One of the reporters asked about Yeddyurappa’s disgruntlement with the party. “Would you leave your wife if she quarrelled with you? It is common to engage in quarrels in a party. But it would not come to divorce,” Eshwarappa replied. At one stage, Eshwarappa lost his temper and said: “Don’t ask questions like a mad person.” Whenever questions regarding Yeddyurappa were posed, Eshwarappa became furious and did not allow reporters to complete their questions.Eshwarappa also said that the Cabinet would be expanded after the MLC elections and the decision would be taken after discussing with the party high command. Cabinet expansion was delayed due to some confusion in the party but it would be executed in a few days, he added. The portfolios are left to the discretionary powers of Chief Minister D V Sadananda Gowda, K S Eshwarappa said and exuded confidence that the BJP would get more seats and come to power in the next election.
