New Delhi: Despite a limited release, Ranbir Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra and Ileana D'Cruz starrer ‘Barfi!’ is doing good business at the box office. The film earned Rs 9.2 crore on the first day, but the numbers went up in weekend.
Film trade analyst Taran Adarsh lately tweeted, “#Barfi Fri 9.2 cr, Sat 11.5 cr, Sun 13.9 cr, Mon 6.5 cr, Tue 6 cr, Wed 7.25 cr. Total: Rs 54.35 cr nett. Extraordinary!”
In director Anurag Basu’s ‘Barfi!’, Ranbir plays a deaf and mute young man, who falls in love with Priyanka Chopra, who suffers from autism. High on emotional drama, the film has succeeded in wooing people across all age groups. Positive reviews from most of the critics further helped the film in grabbing eyeballs. Brilliant performances by the lead actors form the strength of ‘Barfi!’.
Kareena Kapoor starrer ‘Heroine’ will hit the screens this Friday. Directed by Madhur Bhandarkar, ‘Heroine’ is one of the most talked about films of the year and may affect the collections of ‘Barfi!’ in second week.
