New Delhi: Two days after a Blueline ran down 17 persons, killing eight of them instantly, there has been yet another accident.
A 26-year old man died on the spot when a Blueline hit him from behind in Noida on Tuesday morning.
The incident took place in sector 18 in Noida on Tuesday morning. An angry mob set fire to the bus following the killing.
This comes just a day after the Delhi High court pulled up the state government over the Blueline menace.
On Monday the Delhi High Court issued show cause notices to the Delhi government, the owner of the killer bus, and Blue line bus operators.
The Court has also set a two-day deadline for the government to inform them about the ways and means in which the killer buses can be phased out within a month
The court though refused to ban the buses immediately as there is little alternative available to commuters.
But if things don't move within a month, it has warned the government that experts from outside will be brought in to formulate a plan to rejig the transport system.
Meanwhile, the state Transport Minister Haroon Yousuf has said it'll take a year to revamp the DTC fleet.
This is not the first time that a Blueline bus has turned into a killing machine. Ninety-four lives have been lost in 88 accidents in 2007 of which 34 people have died post July, when the HC first took cognisance.
