B'lore: Muslims march for Kazmi's release
Kazmi was arrested on March 7 following investigations into the incident where a magnetic bomb was stuck on an Israeli Embassy vehicle.

Bangalore: Muslim organisations in the city held a protest on Sunday demanding release of journalist Syed Mohammad Ahmad Kazmi who has been arrested for his alleged role in the February 13 bombing of an Israeli diplomat car in New Delhi.

The agitators led by the Muslim welfare organisation 'Idara-e-Faizul Islam', staged a peaceful protest in front of town hall carrying banners and shouting slogans demanding immediate release of Kazmi.

"We want immediate release of Kazmi and an independent inquiry to be held by CBI into the incident which is being investigated by the Israeli intelligence agency Mossad," President of the organisation Syed Hakim Raza, who led the agitators, said.

The protestors will submit a memorandum to Governor HR Bhardwaj on Monday, he said.

Fifty-year-old Kazmi, who claimed to have been writing for Iranian publications, was arrested on March 7 following investigations into the incident where a magnetic bomb was stuck on an Israeli embassy vehicle.

Four persons, including the wife of an Israeli diplomat, were injured in the bombing incident. Kazmi was remanded in judicial custody till April 7 by a court in Delhi on Saturday.
