Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi on Thursday slammed Bharatiya Janata Party's 'Indian Shinning' campaign, accusing the party of suppressing the voice of people and instead claiming that it was working for their development.

Calling the BJP of being anti-poor, Rahul claimed that the Congress was working at the ground level for all sections of the society whereas the BJP was all about "air conditioned and industralised politics". "Politics of India Shining suppressed the voice of people of Bundelkhand for development. Bundelkhand did not come under India Shining," Rahul said at an election rally in Sagar district of Madhya Pradesh on Thursday.

Rahul asked the voters to rise above caste and community considerations and vote for the Congress on November 25 Assembly elections. He claimed that the Congress will win the elections and form the government in the state.

Rahul also endorsed the Food Security Bill and the Land Acquisition Bill at the rally. "We brought Land Acquisition Bill and it was a long fight. Only we know how we fought for the bill, enabling the poor to get the market rate. We have brought a bill which will give you four times compensation for your land. We talk about right to food because we walk with everyone," Rahul said.

He criticised the Shivraj Singh Chouhan government for not utilising funds given by the Centre for welfare of people. "MP government is not utilising funds sent for the welfare of people. We made more roads than what the BJP could do during its regime," he said. "The Congress government in Madhya Pradesh will not be a government of any leader but it will be of a common man," Rahul said.

Elections are scheduled in Madhya Pradesh on November 25, 2013. The BJP is looking forward to form the government in the state for the third time. Counting will take place on December 8.
