Bengaluru: In a video that has now gone viral, a Bengaluru-based resident can be seen repeatedly thrashing and slamming his 10-year-old son for ‘lying’. The man can be seen relentlessly beating up his son even as the boy pleads that he would not lie again.

The Bengaluru Police have now detained the accused after the almost two-month-old video that was recorded by the victim’s mother, got leaked. According to sources, the video was leaked when the mother gave her phone to a mechanic for some repairing.

The Global Village resident was taken into custody only after television channels started broadcasting the video. A case has been registered at the Kengeri police station against 30-year-old Mahendra.

Police said, “We have registered a case at the Kengeri PS and secured custody of the father on Saturday morning after coming to know of the incident through media channels."

In the shocking video, Mahendra’s wife, who recorded the clip, can be heard saying the boy has lied once again. It leads to Mahendra throwing his son on the floor and kicking him mercilessly when the mother starts pleading with the accused father to stop the thrashing the boy.

Mahendra is also seen beating his son with a mobile phone charger, which could be one of the things that the boy had “lied" about.
