CEC report found that the company owned by Janardhan Reddy indulged in illegal mining.
New Delhi: In what comes as fresh trouble for G Janardhan Reddy, the Supreme Court on Friday asked the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to probe the linkage of illegal mining in Karnataka's Bellary and Anantpur district of Andhra Pradesh.
The apex court also directed the CBI to file its status report on the investigation in Obulapuram illegal mining case.
This came after the Central Empowered Committee (CEC) report found that the company owned by Reddy indulged in illegal mining.
"We believe that iron ore extracted by AMC associated mining company is routed through Obulapuram."
"We want the CBI to investigate linkage of illegal mining in Bellary and Anantpur," said the apex court.
