KOCHI: Though authorities are posturing satisfaction over the round the clock functioning of the Vyttilla Mobility Hub, passengers and the hub employees continue to face problems. Alighting at the hub at late hours may leave you stranded with no autorickshaw services. The situation is even worse for women passengers as the hub neither has a separate waiting room for women nor women security officers at night.Autorickshaw drivers stay off the hub and blame meager number of people using the service at night. “They may change their minds after an increase in the number of passengers using the hub during night”, a pre-paid auto counter worker said. Also, the vendors operating in the hub have no plans to extending their working hours into night. In addition, there is no bus schedule display in the hub and passengers are often bewildered due to the confusion regarding the bus time. People can be seen thronging near the KSRTC station master’s counter with inquiries about the bus timings. Even the KSRTC officials have not been exempted from the list. The station master’s office does not have a telephone connection.Mobility hub managing director M Beena said that all the problems related to the mobility hub will be resolved immediately. “We will appoint a lady security officer in the hub as soon as possible. We were waiting for the commencement of night services by the KSRTC and now that they have started it, the facilities for the passengers who alight in night will be implemented soon,” Beena added.
