The Bharat bandh called by NDA on Thursday evoked mixed responses in the city.
Educational institutions and banks remained shut. Motorists and cars were seen waiting for petrol outside closed petrol pumps. However, traffic in the city did not the give slightest indication of a bandh. Auto rickshaws and RTC buses plied as usual across the city.
Shops and multiplexes had remained closed for most of the day, but opened as the day progressed.
Hitec city was least affected by the bandh. Though a few shops on the main roads remained closed, corporate offices continued with their daily schedule. A private firm employee at Madhapur Supreet Pathipati said, “I do not think the bandh was so fervent. We had office without any problems but unexpectedly, the traffic was too much.” Daily life continued as usual in the Old City. Schools functioned and shops too remained open.
