Balakrishna seeks to quash case

BANGALORE: H D Balakrishna Gowda, the eldest son of H D Deve Gowda, who is facing charges in a disproportionate assets case, filled a petition in the High Court on Wednesday seeking to quash the complaint against him.Lokayukta special court Judge N K Sudhindra Rao on September 24 directed the Lokyukta police to file a report on the complaint, following which the police conducted raids on Gowda’s house and filed an FIR.Gowda is facing charges of having accumulated Rs 70 crore disproportionate to his known sources of income when he took voluntary retirement from government service. The assets are now valued at Rs 500 crore.
