ATM security comes under the scanner

PUDUCHERRY: Senior superintendent of police V J Chandran asked bank managers to post security guards from reputed security firms at their ATMs.In a joint meeting of  top police officials and bank managers called to review the security of the ATMs and banks, he said the banks should inform the local police station if a new security guard was posted at the ATM so that his antecedents could be checked.Chandran also asked the bank mangers to circulate the dos and don’ts to the customers while using the ATM so that they could secure themselves from the bad elements. He told the managers to provide enough lighting at the ATMs so that the CCTV cameras could capture the images of the customers properly.Superintendent of police Anto Alphonse and other top police officials were present at the meeting.
