Jodhpur: Self-proclaimed godman Asaram, accused of sexually assaulting a minor, was on Monday moved to the Jodhpur Central jail under tight security. Asaram spend the first night in the jail with great difficulty.
He has been kept in barrack number 1 of the jail. He had wait for 4 hours outside the cell with sources saying that there was a delay in allocating the room. He had wait till 10 pm outside the barracks due to the delay.
Ironically, Asaram has been lodged in the same barrack which former Rajasthan minister Mahipal Maderna was kept after he was arrested in the Bhanwari Devi murder case. He has been given a bed, bedding and blanket for daily use just like other prisoners.
Asaram has been kept separate from other prisoners for his protection. He had dinner in the Jail Superintendent's room. Jail sources said a team of two doctors will regularly check his health.
Interestingly, he has been allowed to do yoga with the rest of the prisoners. He was given tea, jaggery and nuts for breakfast as other prisoners.
