Army motorcycle expedition begins

KOCHI:  A motorcycle-cum-backwater rafting expedition- Dakshin Maitrey - of the Indian Army’s 96 Field Regiment was flagged off from the Naval Base in Kochi on Monday by Commander Krishna Prasad, Base Commander of INS Venduruthy.The rally which commenced from Thiruvananthapuram on Saturday had halted at Kochi on Sunday evening. Dakshin Maitrey led by Captain Ashutosh Verma with nine motorcycle borne Army jawans will traverse through four southern states with the aim of attracting youth to the Indian Army and reaching out to ex-servicemen and next of kin of martyrs en route.
