Alcoholic Man Beats Wife To Death, Inserts Rolling Pin In Private Parts In UP's Etawah

A woman died after her husband beat her using a wooden stick in Uttar Pradesh’s Etawah district on Monday. He also allegedly inserted a rolling pin into her private parts. A postmortem report found the rolling pin in her stomach.

The victim, 28-year-old Reshma was married to Surjeet for 10 years. The couple had trouble in their marriage due to Surjeet’s addiction to alcohol.

According to an India Today report, the accused, Surjeet came home in a heavily inebriated state on Monday and beat his wife with a wooden stick, tying her legs with a rope. He also inserted a rolling pin into her private part.

The postmortem report revealed multiple injuries on Reshma’s body and the presence of the rolling pin in her abdomen.

Initially, the police had registered a case of culpable homicide, however, after the postmortem findings, the charges were upgraded to murder. Police confirmed that Reshma’s death was a result of a severe beating by her husband.

Firozabad’s Superintendent of Police, Sarvesh Kumar Mishra, confirmed that the victim’s brother had filed a case against Surjeet and his accomplices and that Surjeet had been taken into custody following the disturbing postmortem findings.

Surjeet was arrested and sent to jail.

Earlier this year in April, a woman was allegedly beaten to death by her in-laws near Noida for being unable to meet their dowry demands that included a Toyota Fortuner and cash, police noted.

In March 2023, a 28-year-old man beat his sick wife to death over not doing household chores and refusing to cook for him in North Delhi, according to police.

The accused Bajrangi Gupta allegedly killed his 22-year-old wife who was sick and had just given birth to a baby recently. Police said the woman Preeti was anaemic and weak and hence could not do household chores or cook food regularly.
