AIIMS exam paper leak: Accused to remain in jail
The police said the gang was apparently charging Rs 25-35 lakhs from candidates for leaking the question papers.

New Delhi: The judicial custody of seven accused, including three doctors, arrested for their alleged role in the recent leak of post graduate medical entrance exam papers of All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), was on Wednesday extended till February 14 by a Delhi court.

All the accused were produced before Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (ACMM) Amit Bansal after expiry of their judicial custody remand.

The Crime Branch of the Delhi police had earlier said that accused Mohit Chaudhary, a second year MBBS student of an Ujjain medical college, was the "kingpin" of the racket and he had conspired with other accused Amit, Shahi Balender Bakshi and Vimal Dangi, the doctors who had allegedly appeared in the entrance test.

Besides them, two MBAs Kapil Kumar and Krishan Pratap and Bhishma Singh, a graduate who had allegedly helped the gang in using computers, were also arrested.

They were arrested for allegedly leaking post graduate medical entrance exam papers and helping some candidates by providing answers over mobile phone and bluetooth.

The police had said the gang was charging Rs 25-35 lakhs from candidates for leaking the question papers. The police had told the court that the exam was conducted by AIIMS at 156 centres all over India and the hard copy of the question paper was recovered on January 8.
