Aamir gets fresh notice in Chinkara case
The Gujarat forest department decides to send a fresh notice to Aamir Khan as he failed to come for questioning.

Ahmedabad: The Gujarat forest department has decided to send a fresh notice to actor Aamir Khan as he failed to come for questioning on Monday on the summons issued for alleged violation of law in filming endangered species Chinkara, officials said.

Khan was summoned for questioning as he, as a producer of movie Lagaan eight years ago in Kutch, had not taken permission from the forest department for filming endangered species (chinkara).

"Aamir Khan was not present today. We have decided to send another notice to him to remain present for questioning," Deputy Conservator of Forest, Kutch, V T Korvadia, who is investigating the matter, said.

Khan's lawyer Nirav Shah came and said his client could not be present on Monday, Korvadia said, declining to divulge the reason for the actor's absence.

Meanwhile, forest officials on Monday recorded the statement of executive producer of Lagaan, Srinivas Rao, who was also summoned, Korvadia said.

He, however, refused to give the content of Rao's statement, saying investigations are on at present and he cannot give details.
