5,000 MT manganese, iron ore seized in Sandur

SANDUR(BELLARY): Illegally stored manganese and iron ore worth Rs 1 crore was seized by the task force officials on Sunday at Tonasageri village in Sandur taluk.
The task force comprising officials of the Department of Forest, Revenue, Mines and Zeology and Police, conducted raids on a field in Tonasagere where a huge quantity of around 5,000 metric tonnes of manganese and iron ore was found.RFO Ramamurthy, deputy director Mines and Geology Ramalingappa, Revenue Inspector Siddappa and PSI Radhakrishna seized the material. Around 2,000 metric tonnes of the seized material has been shifted to SMIORE stock yard, sources said.
