BANGALORE: Following the rampage by advocates at the city civil court on Friday, 31 cases were booked under various sections of the Indian Penal Code. Meanwhile, 10 special police teams were formed to arrest the accused and investigate the case. Some police officers including ACP of Devanahalli sub-division Gachinakatti, injured police constables, media houses and public who sustained injuries and got their vehicle damaged lodged cases in Halasur Gate police station.The investigating team collected video footage, photographs that appeared in the media and the visuals shot by police cameramen to identify the attackers. Meanwhile, some of the advocates who were seen pelting stones and assaulting scribes and policemen were identified. The police said that the rioters will be put behind the bars once adequate information was collected.The cases were registered under sections 143 (unlawful assembly), 147 (rioting), 148 (rioting armed with deadly weapon), 307 (attempt to murder), 332 (voluntarily causing hurt to deter public servant from his duty), 333 (voluntarily causing grievous hurt to deter public servant from his duty), 353 (assault or criminal force to deter public servant from discharging his duty), 435 (mischief by fire or explosive substance with intent to cause damage) and 427 (mischief causing damage) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
