The blast injured 10 people and they were taken to Lady Reading Hospital.

Islamabad: A suicide bomber struck the house of a member of an anti-Taliban militia on the outskirts of Peshawar city in northwest Pakistan on Monday, killing three persons and injuring 10 more, police said.

The bomber detonated his explosive vest when he was stopped from entering the Hujra (guest house) of the member of the pro-government militia at Mattani, a suburb of Peshawar.

A policeman and a member of a militia were among the dead, police said. The injured were taken to Lady Reading Hospital.

Security forces cordoned off the area and launched a search operation.

No group claimed responsibility for the attack though such bombings are usually blamed on the banned Pakistani Taliban.
