A police complaint has been filed against Andhra Pradesh Minister Roja Selvamani over her alleged derogatory remarks against the Budabukkala caste. Satyam, the president of the Budabukkala community, expressed his anger during his recent visit to Krishna district over Roja’s remarks.

Subsequently, he filed a police complaint seeking action against Roja. Furthermore, Roja has also been asked to issue an unconditional apology to the Budabukkala community.

Roja transitioned from a leading lady to a character artist before eventually venturing into politics, starting with the Telugu Desam Party. She then switched to the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP).

Roja entered politics with the TDP and later secured two consecutive MLA victories with the YSRCP. After a period in the opposition, the YSRCP came to power and she currently holds a ministerial position in YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s cabinet. Roja continues to play an active and influential role in Andhra Pradesh politics.

While serving as an MLA, Roja took on the role of a judge on the comedy show Jabardasth. However, upon assuming her office as an AP minister, she decided to step away from the show and fully commit herself to politics. Additionally, some of her recent remarks have sparked controversy.

Roja gained significant media attention when she participated in the opening ceremony of Mee Kadupuninda Telugu Vari Ruchulu, a newly established restaurant in Hyderabad. This business venture is led by popular Telugu anchors, Sreevani and her husband Vikramadhithya Reddy.

During her interaction with the media, Roja acknowledged Sreevani’s acting skills in serials and conveyed her best wishes to Vikramadhithya Reddy. She explained that the Mee Kadupuninda Restaurant was established in Manikonda to cater to the needs of senior artists and actors residing in the area. She concluded her brief speech by wishing them success. Roja also delighted the audience by singing the song Aha Emi Ruchi Video Song from the movie Egire Paavurama.
