Have you met your match and want to delete your Hinge account? Fortunately, Hinge is the dating app that's meant to be deleted, so the process is very easy! If you uninstalled the app already, you'll need to reinstall it to delete your account first since uninstalling the app does not delete your account. Nor does deleting your account automatically cancel your subscription. This wikiHow article walks you through the process of deleting your account on Hinge as well as unsubscribing to it.

Things You Should Know

Simply uninstalling the app will not delete your account, so you need to delete it manually before uninstalling.
To delete your account, open Hinge and go to "Settings/Account > Delete or Pause Account > Delete Account."
Once you've deleted your account, make sure you cancel any subscriptions you have to Hinge with your Apple ID or in Google Play.

Deleting Your Profile on Hinge

Open Hinge. Tap the app icon that looks like an "H" on a white background.

Tap the Profile icon Android 7 Account Box. This icon looks like the outline of a person and is in the bottom right corner of your screen. You can skip this step if your profile loads when you open the app.

Tap Settings (Android) or Account (iOS) Android 7 Settings. You'll see this next to a gear icon.

Tap Delete or Pause Account. It's at the bottom of the page, so you'll need to scroll down to find it.

Choose a reason for leaving. You can select from the pre-selected answers or tap "Prefer not to say" if your answer isn't listed. You'll be offered the chance to pause your profile, which doesn't delete your profile, information, or matches like deleting does. By pausing your account, you can keep your Hinge profile without allowing others to view it.

Tap Delete Account. It's the second option on the pop-up. Tap Confirm delete to continue.

Tap Ok got it. You'll see a confirmation that your Hinge account has been deleted. Note that if you didn't cancel any subscriptions to Hinge, you should do that now, as deleting your account does not stop the subscription. If you created the account with your Facebook information, you'll most likely want to remove that connection. To do so, open Facebook, then go to Settings & Privacy > Settings > Apps & Websites > Edit > Hinge and tap Remove. When you delete Hinge, all your account content, matches, conversations, photos, and profile information will be deleted. This information will no longer be available for other users as well as yourself. If you get an error message that you can't delete your profile, something might be wrong with the software, so simply try again later.

Unsubscribing on iOS

Open Settings iPhone Settings App Icon. Tap the app icon that looks like some gears on a light grey background. Use this method to cancel your Hinge subscription if you subscribed to a payment plan using your iOS device.

Tap your Apple ID. It's your name at the top of the menu.

Tap Subscriptions. This is usually the 4th option on the menu under "Payment & Shipping."

Tap the Hinge subscription. A new page will open with the details of the subscription.

Tap Cancel Subscription. Scroll to the bottom of the page and you'll find this option. If you can't find the subscription that way, try using the App Store on your Mac or iTunes on your PC. Open the App Store/iTunes, click your name, click Account Settings > Subscriptions > Manage > Edit (next to Hinge) > Cancel. You'll have access to your subscription features until the plan expires.

Unsubscribing on Android

Open the Google Play Store Android Google Play. This app looks like a sideways blue, green, yellow, and red triangle. Use this method if you subscribed to the premium Hinge service on your Android phone or tablet.

Tap your profile picture. It's in the top right corner of your screen.

Tap Payments & Subscriptions. This is in the middle of the menu next to an icon of the back of a credit card.

Tap Subscriptions. It's the second item in the menu next to an icon of two curved arrows forming a circle.

Tap the Hinge subscription. You'll see more details about the service.

Tap Cancel. Doing so will prevent the subscription from renewing, though you'll be able to use the subscription's benefits, like extra filters when you're searching the app. This means that you'll have access to those subscription features until the plan expires.

Unsubscribing on Google Play on Computer

Go to https://play.google.com/store/account/subscriptions. Use this method if you signed up for the Hinge premium subscription service using Google Play on your computer. If you signed up with Apple, you need to use the App Store on your Mac. You can do that easily by opening the app, clicking your name, and going to Account Settings > Subscriptions > Manage > Edit (next to Hinge) > Cancel.

Click Manage. It's to the right of the Hinge subscription that you want to cancel.

Click Cancel subscription. You might need to scroll down the page to find this option. Click Continue to confirm. If you can't find your subscription there, try going to your Google Pay subscriptions. Follow the same instructions to cancel your subscription.
