The Telangana government has rolled out a significant opportunity for Scheduled Caste (SC) students by inviting applications for overseas scholarships. This initiative aims to provide eligible candidates with access to higher education in reputed international institutions. The scheme is specifically designed for SC students with a family income below 5 lakhs per annum.
Candidates can apply for the scholarship through the official website at telanganaepass.cgg.gov.in. The application window is open until March 31, allowing ample time for eligible students to submit their applications.
Eligibility Criteria for the Overseas Scholarship
To be considered for the scholarship, applicants must meet certain eligibility criteria:
–– The applicant must be under 35 years of age.
–– A minimum of 60 per cent marks in graduation is required by the candidate.
–– Candidates must have obtained a qualifying score in GRE (280 marks) or GMAT (550 marks).
–– Proficiency in English is mandatory, as evidenced by a qualifying score in TOEFL (60 marks) or IELTS (6 grade).
–– For those applying for foundation degree programmes, a minimum of 60 per cent marks or equivalent grade is required.
–– PhD applicants must have secured at least 60 per cent marks or equivalent grade in postgraduate courses in fields such as engineering, management, sciences, agriculture sciences, medicine, social sciences, and humanities.
The scholarship covers a range of benefits, including:
– A grant of up to Rs 20 lakhs or as per admission letter, whichever is lower.
– One-way economy airfare
– Visa charges

The scholarship is available for students who have secured admission in educational institutions in the following countries:

It is important to note that only one child per family is eligible to apply for this scholarship. Therefore, interested candidates are advised to carefully review the eligibility criteria and application process before submitting their applications.
Candidates who achieve a satisfactory score in eligibility tests like GRE or GMAT, as well as IELTS and TOEFL, will be considered for relaxation of the 60 per cent minimum marks requirement in their degree and postgraduate studies.
Additionally, students must have secured unconditional admission to universities and institutions in eligible countries.
