Coaching classes are an example of “status quo” rather than true intellectual exposition or temples of knowledge, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar said while attending the 37th Convocation of Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) as the Chief Guest. He also said that nowadays students must think beyond competitive examinations and use their minds as a parking space for innovative ideas.
The Vice President also advised students to let go of their doubts and insecurities and instead use their minds as a parking place for great ideas. He also highlighted that innovation often comes from thinking differently and challenging the status quo, such as coaching classes. “Some of the greatest innovations and breakthroughs have come from individuals who dared to think differently, who fearlessly challenged the status quo,” he said.

The Vice President also stated that individuals who enter the civil service are now exploring new areas such as setting up start-ups or engaging in agriculture and marketing. Reminding students that they were entering a world increasingly driven by new trends in disruptive technology, Dhankhar urged them to embrace such technologies to become “true footsoldiers of Bharat@2047”.
The VP urged students to explore the ‘vast landscape of possibilities’ that lay before them and to prioritise collaboration over competition as the guiding principle. “Embrace your individuality, pursue your passions, and redefine success on your own terms! Bharat eagerly awaits your contributions, your new perspectives, and your innovative ideas. Believe in yourself and your capabilities,” he told the students.
