New Delhi: Speaking on the eve of oil major, ONGC's golden jubilee celebrations, Petroleum Minister Murli Deora says that he has asked for a reduction of excise duty on petroleum products.
Deora added that he has asked Finance Minister P Chidambaram to reduce excise duty on petroleum products.
On the damage caused by floods to gas production in Hazira, Oil Secretary M L Srinivasan also said that gas production from Hazira will resume by August 22.
M L Sreenivasan says that based on the improvement that has now taken place, they believe that it is possible to resume operations in Hazira on the 21st of this month.
The resumption of operations of HPCL depends upon the normalization of operations in Hazira, which is one day maximum. "21st or 22nd- that's our optimistic estimate," he said.
