An old video of Shah Rukh Khan and Preity Zinta rehearsing to Veer Zaara’s sond Tere Liye recently went viral. The latter recently shared the video on her Instagram handle and opened up about the same. The actress revealed the video was taken while they were rehearsing for an award show.
Preity Zinta’s note read, “This was us rehearsing for an award show. I remember I had no sleep for 2 days and I felt like a zombie. @iamsrk helped brighten the day & the rehearsal with his easy charm & timely jokes The flip when he is holding me was the same step we did in Jiya Jale. #memories #tereliye #veerzaara #jiyajale #flashbackfriday #Ting.”

Veer Zaara is considered one of the gems of Yash Chopra’s numerous love stories. This story of Indian Air Force pilot Veer Pratap Singh and Pakistani girl Zaara Hayat Khan was described in 2004 as not only a love story but something special. It redefined the canvas of Bollywood’s romantic films.
The film also starred Divya Dutta, Manoj Bajpayee, Akhilendra Mishra, Anupam Kher, and Zohra Sehgal in key roles, with special appearances from Amitabh Bachchan and Hema Malini.
Veer Zaara will be completing two decades this year. Earlier, when the film clocked 15 years, Preity shared, “Remembering the iconic Veer-Zaara today—it’s not just a movie but an era. A time of decency, dignity, love, respect, and honor It’s my most memorable film experience. Working with the greatest director of all time, Yash Chopra, who insisted I call him Yash uncle while he called me Zaara till the day he passed.”
She further added, “There will never be another movie and a story like this, music like this, another director and legend like him, another Veer like Shah Rukh Khan, and another Samiya like Rani Mukerji. I still pinch myself, and I am forever indebted to being a part of this labor of love. I miss you, Yash Uncle.”
The film received several accolades, including the National Award for the Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment in 2005.
