Kareena Kapoor On Why She Wouldn't 'Need' To Be Size Zero Again: 'I'm Ready For An Action Film...'

Kareena Kapoor Khan recently discussed the film industry’s fixation back in the day on specific body types and spoke about how she would not want to pursue a size-zero figure, as she did for the film Tashan alongside Saif Ali Khan in 2008. She also answered questions about her level of ambition and the balance of ambition with her mental well-being in tha chat with YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia. The clip is now going viral on Reddit.

Saying that she ambitious, Kareena went on to explain, “I am ambitious but I’m not ambitious to the point that I would harm myself and my mental frame of mind. it tends to happen when ambition is so high in your life that you have nothing else to look forward to. I’m not like that.”

Kareena’s size zero figure in Tashan became hugely popular when the film was released. Achieving such a slim body was no easy feat, and Kareena put in a lot of hard work to attain it.Recalling it, she said, “For size zero also, I took that time. I took a year and year and a half to get into that look. And it was like a challenge. I was like, ‘Ek baar karna hai life mein’ for an action film. I have never done an action film after that also.”

On being asked if she would do it again, Kareena said that the film industry and society are more acceptable of different body types now – a far cry from what it was back then. She said, “Now, I think, we are living in a generation where everything is accepted. I wouldn’t say that this certain body type will be accepted for an action film. Today, everyone can do what they want. I am ready for an action film today also. I don’t need to be a size zero for that!”
