Farah Khan and Shah Rukh Khan have remained close friends over the years and have witnessed several important milestones in each other’s lives. Shah Rukh was not only the first person outside Farah’s family to know that she was expecting triplets but also one of her first friends to visit her after she gave birth. In an interview for Nova IVF Fertility’s YouTube channel, Farah Khan recalled how Shah Rukh’s visit caused a stampede at the hospital.
She said, “Shah Rukh came the same day to the hospital and there was a stampede. The patients have come out with their IV drips and Shah Rukh khada hai.” Farah said that the hospital had not had any triplets being delivered in decades so there was already a huge crowd in her room.
Farah recalled that Shah Rukh had bought a fancy pram from Harrod’s for the triplets, but it didn’t fit through the doors of her house. “He came home and he fixed it, but it was so big that it wouldn’t go out of the door,” she said. She also mentioned that Shah Rukh’s wife Gauri Khan had thrown her a sweet baby shower.
In the same interview, Farah recalled being under duress for months when she couldn’t conceive. She also mentioned that she sobbed in front of Shah Rukh on the sets of Om Shanti Om after a visit to her doctor. However, Farah said that when she was finally able to conceive, Shah Rukh was the second person she gave this news to, the first being her mother.
She said, “I said, ‘I have to tell you something’. He looked at me and said, ‘Are you pregnant?’ We still had to finish Darde-e-Disco, and every time he’d remove his shirt I would throw up. He would keep a bucket next to me. He was very sweet, he ordered this lazy boy couch, instead of the director’s chair, so that I could lie down with a mic and shout at people.”
Farah Khan is a mother to triplets Czar, Anya and Diva. She married director Shirish Kunder in 2004 and the couple welcomed their kids in 2008.
