Prohibitory orders were clamped by the Shivamogga district administration in the Ragi Gudda area, following tensions over alleged incidents of stone pelting on Sunday, police said.
Following the rumours of a stone pelting on the Eid Milad procession on Sunday, an angry mob allegedly threw stones at a few houses and vehicles and injured several people. as per police sources quoted by PTI.

The police also resorted to lathi-charges to disperse the mob, police said. Additional forces, including the Rapid Action Force have been dispatched to the spot, they added.
A police official said that the crowd was dispersed and the situation is currently under control. They further said that some people have also been taken into custody.
Shivamogga Superintendent of Police G K Mithun Kumar and other police officers reached the spot and spoke to people to bring the situation under control.
The police said that earlier in the day, there were protests in the same area over a cutout that was put out as part of the procession, as the police had covered a portion of it due to ”bit controversial (content)”, which upset people of a community.
