Volvo Construction Equipment (Volvo CE) India hit a big milestone at Excon 2023, the region’s largest Construction Equipment event, by showcasing a bunch of electric machines.
They’re on a mission for sustainability, showing off not just cool electric gadgets but also smart services to help customers reach their goals easily.
Volvo CE is taking the lead in making operations in mining, material handling, steel, cement, and urban infrastructure more eco-friendly. They launched EC500 Electric, the first-ever electric excavator in India in the 50-ton category. This big move is a step towards making mining and construction machinery emission-free.
The L120 Electric Wheel Loader, a sneak peek into future handling methods, promises no smoke, quiet operations, and a comfy work atmosphere for various places. They also introduced the EC80 Electric, a new version of the compact EC55 electric, designed for city construction and forestry. With its larger battery, it gives better performance and runs for 6-8 hours.
At the event, they also showed off two electric compactors, DD40 and PT220, as concepts. The DD40 Electric Compactor comes with fancy gadgets, zero pollution, and reliable charging, which could cut down energy costs by half. The PT220 Electric is perfect for places where emission rules are strict, making construction quieter and cleaner. These machines show Volvo CE’s focus on advanced engineering and local solutions, in line with the government’s Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative.
Dimitrov Krishnan, Managing Director of Volvo CE India, said, “Excon 2023 is super important for us to show how serious we are about the future of construction. The demand for clean technology is growing, and we want to be the ones driving positive change. Our machines cover a lot of areas like construction, mining, and material handling, and we’re not just about selling products. We’re changing the game with electric solutions and strong support for sustainability. We want to make eco-friendly choices cool and easy for everyone.”
Apart from electric stuff, they also flaunted their 20-ton excavator, EC210D, showcasing its power and productivity. Volvo CE wants to make sure their customers succeed, so they’re offering new-age services like Equipment as a Service (EaaS), productivity, and uptime services. EaaS bundles top-notch equipment with efficient measures to make it easier for customers to switch to electric machines without worrying about costs and tech updates.
Volvo CE India also has a bunch of services to support customers in their journey, including operator simulators, smart assist solutions, and training. They’re all about making sure machines run smoothly with services like automatic monitoring and real-time tech support. With expert technicians, real parts, and remanufactured components, Volvo CE is all about keeping things running smoothly and giving customers peace of mind.
Volvo Construction Equipment is leading the way with electric machines, trying to reduce the carbon footprint in our industry. They’re not just selling machines; they’re helping customers be more productive and profitable while changing how we see construction equipment, one step at a time.
