Delhi Begins Test Run of Mohalla Bus Service, To Offer Easy Connectivity On Narrow Roads
The latest experiment by the Delhi government is expected to resolve the issue of last-mile connectivity in the city.

The Delhi government has initiated a new local transport model called Mohalla Bus Service. This will benefit the commuters to have seamless connectivity to narrow roads in the national capital.

The news has been confirmed by Transport Minister, Kailash Gahlot. He said the city will receive over 2,080 buses under the scheme. Out of the total, 1,040 will be operated by the Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) DTC and the remaining units will be run by the Delhi Integrated Multi-Modal Transit System (DIMTS).

Test Run on Selected Routes

The concerned authority has kickstarted the trial run from today.  It will remain operational for one week, covering two routes in the city – Majlis Park to Pradhan Enclave and Akshardham to Mayur Vihar Phase III.

Once finished, the management will collect the data and will analyse the response from commuters.

Service to Begin When?

After getting a satisfactory result, the service will likely be rolled out in two or three weeks. The latest experiment by the Delhi government is expected to resolve the issue of last-mile connectivity in the city.
