2013 Fiat Linea T-jet launched at Rs 7.6 lakh onwards
Fiat has dropped the T-jet's prices and they now start at an aggressive 7.6 lakh, while the Dynamic variant costs Rs 8.40 lakh and the top-end Emotion coming in at Rs 8.8 lakh ex-Delhi.

Fiat has launched its 2013 Linea T-jet in India, the first and only turbo-petrol sedan in its segment. The car remains essentially the same in terms of drivetrain, with the same 1.4 litre turbo petrol that makes 114PS at 5000 rpm and 207nm at 2200 rpm. Fiat claims a fuel efficiency of 15.7kmpl.

New for 2013 is that the T-jet engine is now available across the range, with three variants instead of the being available in only the top-end variant as earlier. Cosmetic changes are similar to what we saw being done to the regular Linea a month back. Fiat joins other manufacturers like Volkswagen and Ford in launching small capacity forced induction petrol engines in the sub-Rs 10lakh price bracket.

Even the base Active variant is well specced, with ABS and disc brakes at all four corners, auto on-off headlamps and rain sensing wipers along with electric OVRMs. The Dynamic variant adds Blue and Me Bluetooth connectivity, climate control, dual airbags and a rear AC. The Emotion variant additionally gets leather seats, rear sun curtains and 16-inch wheels wrapped in 205 section tyres.

Fiat has dropped the T-jet's prices and they now start at an aggressive 7.6 lakh, while the Dynamic variant costs Rs 8.40 lakh and the top-end Emotion coming in at Rs 8.8 lakh ex-Delhi. The ex-Mumbai prices are Rs 7.87 lakh for Active, Rs 8.73 lakh for Dynamic and Rs 9.11 lakh for the Emotion.

Fiat currently has 75 standalone dealers in India, of which 58 are currently active.
