Indian love their food and their love for cricket is unmatched too. And Courtyard By Mariott, Ahmedabad, has combined Indians’ too absolute favourites in a pate of food. However, this plate is not your regular plate–it is a 5-feet-long special thali named the ‘Motera Thali’. The restaurant had a Motera Thali challenge too (on march 8 and 9) and has grabbed everyone’s attention.
Cricketer Parthiv Patel graced the challenge after he tried the thaali with his friend, donning a Gujrati turban.
While thali challenges have been in trend for sometime now, the Motera Thali challenge was slightly different as the participant was required to finish the 5-feet-long thaali within one hour and could also take help from their friends or family. Doable, no? But not more than four people.
The thing that gave the thali a cricket-ish twist was its food. It had Gujrati delicacies named on cricketers’ names, like Kohli Khaman, Pandya Patra, Dhoni Khichdi, Bhuvaneshwar Bharta, Rohit Aloo Rashila, Shardul Shrikhand, Bouncer Basundi, Hattrick Gujarati dal, Bhumra Bhindi Simlamirch, Harbhajan Handvo. The mammoth platter had multiple portions of each dish and served a mix of snacks, breads, appetisers and delish desserts along side the extravagant mains.
